SPIN the Greenway with WRWC and SPIN bikes

By Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council

Overview

Join WRWC and SPIN bikes for a guided ride down the Woonasquatucket River Greenway with FREE e-bike rentals, and end at the farmer's market!

Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 10:00am for a guided ride on the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. We'll be joined by partners at SPIN who are providing e-scooters and e-bikes for participants!

We'll meet at the Farm Fresh RI building (10 Sims Ave, Providence, RI 02909) starting at 9:50 am for a 10:00am start. We'll meet on the Kinsley Avenue side of the building (facing the river). We will have a brief e-bike demo at the start of our ride, and then follow the Greenway down on a leisurely group ride out-and-back. Ride participants have the option to receive a FREE SPIN HELMET.

We can ride to the end of the Greenway at Lyman Ave in Johnston, which is a roughly 8-mile round trip ride. We anticipate the ride will take 45 minutes-1 hour, and we'll ride at a pace that is comfortable to the group and generally stay together as we go. We'll have you back in time to finish some farmer's market shopping at the indoor market happening from 9am-1pm that same day.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged (reserve a bike and a helmet before spots fill up) but drop-ins are welcome as well. Please indicate using "add-ons" to your ticket if you are reserving a spin e-bike, e-scooter, and/or spin helmet. You can bring your own wheels if you don't want to reserve a SPIN bike/scooter, but all participants must wear a helmet for this ride.

Accessibility and Parking:

Parking is available at Farm Fresh RI, but may be quite busy with the farmer's market ongoing. The FFRI building has bathrooms and water fountains. We recommend you bundle up for the winter weather, assuming there may be cold temperatures and wind. The ride will be rescheduled in the case of extreme cold, ice, or precipitation.
