The Pacific Northwest's unofficial spice wizard, Jim Brown, will go in-depth into herbs, spices and blends, and what flavors work in perfect harmony as YOU create your own exclusive blend.


With over 500+ flavors on hand, participants will enjoy a fun learning experience, taste sensations and walk away with a unique signature spice blend created in-store!

With a world of herbs and spices at your fingertips you'll get to sample flavors from around the world as you conjure up a magical mouthwatering mix.

Guests will receive 15% in-store discount at any time during the day of the class, small bites, and a jar of their own spice blend to take home and cook with!

Will there be food to eat during the event?

There will be bread and crudite for dipping. Light snacks. Please consider your personal dietary needs and restrictions. Call for more information about the food and beverages served during this event.

Will I be doing any hands-on meal prep?

We will have some hands-on opportunities. Guests will smell and taste different spices to understand characteristics and use-cases. Additionally, participants will make their own spice blends after the lecture and tasting portion of class.

What about dietary restrictions?

Call for any dietary needs and concerns (503-928-3099). The light bites are vegan and nut-free.

What comes with my event registration?

One hour, interactive spice lecture. 15% in-store discount at any time during the day of the class. Additionally, you'll leave the event with a jar of your own, custom-made, spice blend! We'll provide recipes to take home. Join this intimate event at Portland's premier spice shop!

What if I buy a ticket, but can no longer attend?

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the event is cancelled and/or rescheduled by the organizer (Savory Spice).

Is this a virtual or hybrid event?

This is an in-person event only. Any tickets purchased are for in-person at Savory Spice Portland (857 SE 13th Ave, Portland, OR 97202) and are non-refundable and non-transferable.
