The Society for the Preservation of Historic Cements, Inc. is dedicated to education, research, documentation, and training in the history and use of historic cements, and advocates preservation of significant examples of the materials and their application. SPHC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization, which in coordination with the Central Park Conservancy will assemble experts in historic masonry materials and restoration for a 2-day program to be held June 12-13, 2023 in Central Park.

The Central Park Conservancy is the private, non-profit organization that raises the funds, manages the capital work, and oversees every aspect of the daily care of Central Park. Our mission is to give life to the core purpose of Central Park, which is to maintain the Park as a respite from the pace and pressures of city life for all New Yorkers and visitors. We cannot do this work without the thousands of supporters who volunteer, donate, and get involved.

The program will include technical presentations, demonstrations, a walking tour of historic repointing projects in and around Central Park, and a hands-on historic cement repointing workshop.

Registration is free to all Central Park and New York City Parks Dept. personnel. Others should refer to the ticketing options offered.
