Frequently asked questions
Speed networking is a structured networking format where participants engage in a series of short, timed conversations with other attendees. Similar to speed dating but for professional connections, our format allows you to meet multiple people in a single session, maximizing your networking.
We use Zoom breakout rooms to facilitate one-on-one conversations. After a brief welcome and explanation of the format, you'll be paired with another participant for 5 minutes. When time is up, we'll bring everyone back to the main room briefly before sending you to your next conversation partner.
Just a computer or mobile device with a stable internet connection, camera, and microphone. We recommend using a computer for the best experience, and having your camera on is essential for building trust and connection.
Prepare a concise 30-second introduction about yourself and your business. Have a clear idea of what you're looking to give or receive from the networking session. Consider having your LinkedIn profile or business website ready to share if appropriate.
We provide conversation prompts to keep discussions flowing, but authenticity is key. Focus on how you might help others rather than just selling your services. Good questions to ask include "What does your ideal client look like?" and "What challenges is your business currently facing?"
Our structured format is actually perfect for people who find traditional networking challenging. The clear timeframe and format remove much of the anxiety around "working the room" or initiating conversations.
