Please join us for a magical virtual tour of the Spectrum of Desire: Love, Sex, and Gender in the Middle Ages exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Cloisters Museum, celebrating its 100 anniversary in 2025. The exhibition will feature gold jewelry, ivory sculpture, stained glass, illuminated manuscripts, and textiles, with an eye towards feelings of love and desire in the most courtly and romantic eras, the era of the troubadours.

Instructor Bio: Dr. Caterina Y. Pierre
Dr. Caterina Y. Pierre is a professor of art history at the City University of New York at Kingsborough Community College and a visiting associate professor at the Pratt Institute. Dr. Pierre has a diverse teaching portfolio that includes courses on art and crime at CUNY Kingsborough, the Pratt Institute, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Her current research projects include a book on cemetery sculpture as political art in the late nineteenth century and a biography of Ernest Durig, a forger of the renowned sculptor Auguste Rodin.
