Description

Participants will begin with a special reading, in Arabic and English, of the newly published children’s book Fables Across Time, written and illustrated by Sabiha Al Khemir. Following the reading, there will be a Q&A with the storyteller, tours of select artworks from the museum’s permanent collection, and a related hands-on art workshop.

The event will be held at the museum’s Collections and Education Center in Long Island City, Queens.

Dr. Sabiha Al Khemir is a professor of Islamic art, author, lecturer, and artist, and was the founding director of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar. She is the president of the SAK Foundation, a nonprofit organization, which aims to foster cross-cultural creative exchange. She was born in Tunisia and currently lives in New York City.
