Special Event: Figure Drawing + Fundraiser for al aguas

Please join us for a special one-night-only event bringing together Visibility Drawing and al aguas for a figure drawing fundraiser! Proceeds will directly benefit al aguas, an Oakland artist and figure model who is undergoing a gender-affirming surgery this month and will not be able to model, and therefore work, during recover.

All levels and all mediums welcome! Regardless of if its your first time, or you are a figure drawing regular, there is creativity in everyone to be explored through live modeling.

Please note:

• Masks required: This is a N95/KN95 masked event for protection against the spread of COVID. See more information below.
• BYO supplies: There will be limited access to newsprint, easles, and drawing clipboards, but artists are responsible for bringing their own supplies.
• Ages 18+: Live model will be modelling nude, and therefore this space must be 18+.
• Sliding Scale Prices: Event is listed as free because it is free to RSVP. Payment will be collected onsite day-of via cash, Venmo or Paypal. Sliding scale ranges from $25-$35.

Visibility Drawing hosts a weekly figure drawing space that centers trans, nonbinary, intersex, and gender-nonconforming models and builds on our communities’ fight for bodily autonomy, disability justice, and trans liberation. They are dedicated to creating an artistic community that celebrates the inclusion of trans and gender non-conforming models in the figurative art, and their community agreements can be found here.

al aguas (aka siete) is an Huichin/Oakland-based artist and figure model. al is disabled, trans, and Indigiqueer and invested in increasing access to the arts for their communities including working class, socially-isolated, neurodivergent, and qtBIPOC folks and their families.
