In this session, we will explore what interpreters from other fields should know about special education as they build their practice in schools:
- Language access policies for parents and relevant laws, including IDEA and ESSA
- Interface of general, special, and bilingual/ESL education
- Special education eligibility, services, and types of meetings
- Ethical standards and decision-making in special education
