In this session, we will explore what interpreters from other fields should know about special education as they build their practice in schools:

  • Language access policies for parents and relevant laws, including IDEA and ESSA
  • Interface of general, special, and bilingual/ESL education
  • Special education eligibility, services, and types of meetings
  • Ethical standards and decision-making in special education

A minimum of 5 participants are needed to offer the session. Sessions will be recorded and shared with registered participants.
