Speak Up, Stand Out: Build Confidence and Visibility as a Student and Future Leader
It’s easy to assume confidence will come after you’ve accomplished big things, such as the internship, the job offer or the leadership role. But confidence isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you practice by learning how to speak up, share your value and trust that what you bring to the table matters.
When you stay quiet, it’s not just you who misses out. The people around you lose the chance to learn from your ideas, your experience, your perspective. Building visibility isn’t about self-promotion for its own sake, it’s about showing up in service of something bigger. It’s how you contribute, connect and make a meaningful impact.
In this session, we’ll explore:
- Why self-promotion feels uncomfortable and how to do it authentically
- The internal and external factors that make it challenging
- How to talk about your strengths without feeling like you’re bragging
- Practical ways to build visibility in class, on campus and in your early career
This session will help you show up more fully, not just for yourself, but for your community, your future team and the people who need what only you can offer.
