The SPDAT tools are designed to help assess and prioritize the needs of clients being served either at the ‘front door’ of your system or to guide case management and improve housing stability outcomes. They provide an in-depth assessment that relies on the assessor’s ability to interpret responses and corroborate those with evidence. Participants of the SPDAT Assessment training will be well versed in the development of the tool, including the research, best practices, and voices that went into the development of the tool. Each domain and component will be reviewed, and participants will have a chance to ‘practice’ using the tool and scoring. This training will also cover how to use the SPDAT Assessment to inform service planning and track outcomes over time.
You cannot use the full SPDAT without being trained and certified.
This training has three functions:
- Train and certify new users of the full SPDAT Assessments (not the VI-SPDAT)
- Refresh certified SPDAT users and provide updates and best practices
- Serve as pre-requisite for future regional SPDAT trainers in ND and WCMN. If you’re interested in becoming a future trainer, contact the FM Coalition.
Space is limited. Sign up today! Three options:
- CARES/CoC Partners – across ND and WCMN
- Refresher Registration – reduced price for those previously trained/certified by CARES (please reach out to Corina at the Coalition for more information about this option)
- Non-CARES/CoC Partners – all others seeking training
