About this event

Purpose Statement: The Priority Populations & Communities Subcommittee aims to elevate the experiences and needs of priority populations that are at higher risk of suicide and break down barriers that contribute to suicide by providing prevention through education.

Goals: Gain and promote better understanding of the needs of priority populations and communities and explore resources and other ways of healing that are culturally specific.Develop recommendations on how to better serve priority populations and communities at a higher risk for suicide.

Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP) is a San Diego nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance long-term solutions to priority health needs through collaboration and community engagement. CHIP facilitates the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative (Initiative), a public-private partnership with the mission of reducing and preventing childhood obesity through policy, systems, and change. Goals of the Initiative include improving access to healthy food and beverages and increasing safe routes to healthy places.
