Sparkling Wine Tasting

While sparkling wine is always a great choice to drink any time of year, bubbles are practically mandatory for the turn of the year. So we've got a great line-up of sparkling wines out on the tasting table this Saturday that range from outstanding bargains - just $14.98! - to about as grand as grand gets - hyper-limited and $200 a bottle. Brilla Prosecco Extra Dry NV - To be honest, the bottle and label lives on the fine line between festive and kitsch, but the wine's really good!

Marques de Gelida Cava Brut Gran Reserva 2019 - As Wine Enthusiast says in the 94 point rave, "Brioche, lemon zest, green apple and toasted-nut flavors evaporate into a soft vanilla and citrus-blossom finish." Yum.

Charles Clement Champagne Cuvee Speciale Brut NV - Real Champagne made with 45% reserve wines and aged nearly three years in bottle before release with a luxurious texture and toasty flavors from <$40. Worth celebrating.

Famille Mousse Blanc de Blancs L'Orage Extra Brut NV - After 2021's frosts nearly wiped out the Mousse family's vines, 11 top grower friends from across the region banded together and each sold Mousse some of their own much depleted Chardonnay crops. The 11 growers are represented on the front label and you can see their names on the back. The wine's terrific.

Cedrick Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Val Vilaine Blanc de Noirs 2023 - Only a handful of bottles available from this legendary Cote de Bar pioneer, but well worth snagging if you can. Champagne that deserves to be drunk from Burgundy stems.

Jean Vesselle Oeil de Perdrix Brut NV - Finishing with a bit of pink! All Pinot Noir from Bouzy, this is pale in color and jam-packed with delicious flavor.
