About this event
This symposium about Spain’s contributions to the American Revolution will be held Friday, September 19 in the afternoon and all day on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in DAR Constitution Hall. All events including academic lectures and other activities will be free and open to the public with pre-registration required. The symposium is presented by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute (QSSI), and the Fundación Ramón Areces (FRA) with support from the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in the United States. This will be the second symposium in QSSI’s America&Spain250 initiative and a cornerstone event of DAR’s America250 programming to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding.

- This is a two day event. You will only need to register once for both days and will need proof of registration for entering the building.

Yes this is a two day event. Sessions will occur on Friday Sept. 19 from 4:30 pm-7:00 pm and Saturday Sept. 20 from 10:00 am-7:30 pm. Doors will open 1 hour before the start time of each session.

No, only water, tea, and coffee will be available for attendees. No food or drink besides water is allowed in the auditorium. You are able to bring in outside food into the lobby only. There will be a list provided of nearby restaurants for food.
Yes. There will be a full security check each time you enter the building. You will need to show your registration upon entry each time. If you do not have a copy of your registration confirmation, you will not be allowed to enter the building.
