South Carolina 4-H Engineering Challenge 2026

By South Carolina 4-H Youth Development Program

Overview

Youth engage in a variety of STEM-based challenges to showcase their skills and learn about opportunities in the STEM fields.

The South Carolina 4-H Engineering Challenge began in 2012 and has grown to over 400 youth competitors annually! Youth that participate in this competition report increased confidence and knowledge in science skills. The 2026 Engineering Challenge will be held at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia, SC on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 9 AM to 3:30 PM. We have several hands-on challenges available for youth 9-18 years old, and youth ages 5-8 are invited to participate in the Visual Arts Challenge. In addition to STEM-based challenges for youth competition, there will be an interactive STEAM Expo with multiple vendors, free to any participant or family member.

We have limited space in each challenge; so sign up early! Registration deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026. Full payment is due upon registration. No refunds will be issued within three weeks of the event.
