A sourdough starter is a healthy, versatile tool to have in your home kitchen, but it can be challenging to know how to care for it properly over time and to know what recipes work best for your kitchen. The internet is overloaded with sourdough recipes!
In Sourdough Starter Use 101, we will review and dive in to The Sourdough Spot’s tried-and-true recipes utilizing sourdough starter, from amazing pancakes and waffles to bread (obviously), focaccia, bagels, pretzels, cookies, and beyond. Whether you want to get into bread making or just want to get your feet wet in adding a gut-healthy sourdough starter into your kitchen, this is a great class for home cooks of all shapes, sizes and levels. Kids are welcome!
Class will be a mix of demonstrations and hands-on mixing, shaping and baking, plus reviewing the ins and outs of how to care for your new organic sourdough starter properly over time.
Class will take place on the deck at Iron District and will move inside to an enclosed container on the deck if need be due to weather. It will last 2.5 hours, and you will go home with a bit of Bertha (our sourdough starter), an ebook with all of the recipes from class, a sourdough starter care guide, dough to bake and enjoy at home, and tons of knowledge and info to use and pass on to family and friends.
I am excited to host you and share my knowledge and skills with you. See you at Iron District!
