You will take home a sourdough starter that is ready to use, dough you made in class to bake a loaf at home, a fool-proof recipe for delicious sourdough bread, recipes to use up sourdough discard, reference guide for sourdough tips, a bag of freshly milled flour, and all your sourdough bread baking questions answered!

What to expect

Goat University 201: Sourdough Bread Baking Workshop Roll up your sleeves and spend a cozy afternoon or evening at Heritage Springs Family Farm learning to bake delicious sourdough bread- starting with a goat meet and greet (because everything is better with goats!). Come at 12:45 for a goat meet and greet before class begins at 1pm! During this 3.5 hour hands-on workshop you will: -Hear a brief history of sourdough bread baking -Handle the different phases of dough so you learn the difference between "shaggy" and "overly fermented" and everything in between -Have sourdough lingo demystified for you -Learn all about sourdough starters (feeding, troubleshooting, and storage) -Feed your own sourdough starter to take home -Practice "stretch and folds", shape dough, and score dough -Understand the difference between various types of flour and their effect on your dough -Have all of your sourdough bread baking questions answered
