Learn to make NY-style sourdough bagels, using fresh, active and healthy organic sourdough starter. Make bagels of all shapes, styles and sizes with our simple and flexible recipe. Learn what to look for in proofed dough, how to proof bagel dough properly, and how to care for new sourdough starter over time.

Take home a bit of Bertha (our organic starter), sourdough starter care instructions, our sourdough bagel recipe, a freshly baked bagel, schmear, bagel dough to make at home, and tons of knowledge.

Class will last 1.5 hours, and we will mix bagel dough, cut and shape dough, and bake bagels together. We will be indoors in a closed container if weather calls for it on class day.

Feel free to bring mix-ins if you’d like to create flavored bagel dough or flavored schmear. The less moisture in the dough mix-ins, the better. I am so excited to share my knowledge and host you for class. See you at Iron District!
