Sound 201: Advanced Application of Sound Fundamentals - LIVE Band!
Overview
From stage plot and mic choices to sound check - advanced application of sound fundamentals in a LIVE lab experience. LIVE band and performers will allow time for you, as the engineer, to mic the band, sound check and mix FOH and Monitors to understand the dynamics of a live sound environment. This class will be 1hr of class time, with the rest for the time spent as a Lab/Hands on.
This class will cover
Understanding technical riders and stage plots
Selecting the proper microphones
Microphone positioning
Wireless microphones
Stage cabling management
House sound system calibration - DSP
Monitor system calibration ( ringing out floor wedges)
Sound check procedures
Communications skills
FOH mixing (digital and analog mixers)
Monitor mixing (onstage mixer and from FOH)
Building a mix
Prequisite: Sound 101 Class, or experience mixing live events
Restrictions: Must be at least 16 years of age
Class Max: 16 people
Class Minimum: 8 people
If the class minimum is not met for this date, the class will be rescheduled. In that event, the registration fee paid will transfer forward to the new date. See our FAQs for more information.
