Join us for an exclusive conversation with Sonora Jha - the award-winning author of The Laughter, Foreign, and How to Raise a Feminist Son - in celebration of her latest novel, INTEMPERANCE. This event will be held in conversation with acclaimed author Elise Juska (Reunion) on Tuesday, October 21. This event will be held at 7:00pm at One Ardmore Place 24 Cricket Ave, Ardmore PA.

Tickets are required to join. Admission includes exclusive merch and admission to the event. Books will be available for signing and purchase at the event.

In this follow-up to the critically-acclaimed The Laughter—winner of the Washington State Book Award—a middle-aged woman starts a firestorm when she holds a contest, based on an ancient Indian ritual, in which men must compete to win her affections.

SONORA JHA is the author of three books, most recently The Laughter, which won the 2024 Washington State Book Award for Fiction and was named one of the Best Books of 2023 by the New Yorker, NPR, and others. After a career of journalism in India and Singapore, Dr. Jha is now a professor at Seattle University and lives in Seattle.

ELISE JUSKA is a writer of fiction and nonfiction. Her latest novel, Reunion, was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice. Elise’s work has appeared in The Missouri Review, The Gettysburg Review, The Hudson Review, Prairie Schooner, Electric Literature, LitHub, Ploughshares, and many other publications. She is currently a Visiting Professor of Creative Writing at Bryn Mawr College.
