Sonoma Sips: A Pop-Up Wine Tasting Experience at the Museum of Sonoma County

Weekend from May 17 – June 8, 2025 | Santa Rosa, CA

Swirl, sip, and savor the story of Sonoma—right inside the Museum!

In Sonoma County, wine isn’t just something we drink—it’s part of who we are. Whether you’re a curious beginner, a seasoned connoisseur, or someone who just enjoys a good glass with friends, Sonoma Sips invites you to experience wine in an entirely new way.

At the heart of this pop-up exhibition is the Tasting Table, a cutting-edge interactive experience developed by winemaker and museum technologist Jim Spadaccini, founder of Ideum. Designed to be fun, social, and educational, the Tasting Table turns wine tasting into an engaging, tech-powered journey of discovery.

Here’s how it works: you’ll be seated with three other guests and guided through a tasting via beautifully designed software tailored to each wine. New to tasting? The table gently walks you through identifying flavor profiles using a flavor wheel—at your own pace. More experienced? Put your palate to the test by comparing your notes with those of the winery. Either way, you’ll leave with new insights, new favorites—and probably a few new friends.

It’s the perfect mix of education and enjoyment, hosted in a vibrant setting that honors Sonoma County’s winemaking history and community. Led by local sommelier Timothy Skok, each tasting explores a different theme:

· May 23-25: Historic Pioneers – Taste from the vineyards that started it all

· May 30-June 1: Unique Varietals – Discover how global styles thrive in Sonoma

· June 6-8: Alexander Valley – Explore bold, modern wines from a legendary region
