About the Venue
Buunni Inwood is an independent neighborhood coffee shop that brews small-batch roasted Ethiopian coffee beans. Many of the coffees are certified fair trade and organic, while others are sourced from small farms that are committed to responsible practices. Our cafes are neighborhood hubs, hosting musical evenings, readings, book clubs, roundtables, and more. Come on in. Beer & wine available for purchase as well!

The artists:
Pete Venzal-Vocalist: Pete Venzal is a versatile multi-genre vocalist originally from South Florida. As an American of Cuban descent, his music naturally reflects a rich blend of cultural influences. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Pete has performed at numerous local venues, captivating audiences with his dynamic vocal style and deep musicality.
Berta Moreno-Tenor Saxophone: Berta Moreno is a multi-awarded jazz saxophonist, composer, bandleader, and educator from Spain based in New York City. She has captured the eye of the audience and grabbed the attention of the US and European press. Critics usually define her as "Driven and Determined"- Downbeat Magazine, "a storyteller"- WBGO and "a highly thoughtful and precise soloist, with well-planned statements that don't waste any notes" - All About Jazz.
With an extensive career, she has been touring and performing as a bandleader and sidewoman in some of the leading jazz festivals, including North Sea Jazz or TD James Moody Jazz Festival, and some of the main venues and theatres, TV and Radio programs both in Europe and US including NPR, WBGO, NJPAC, Lantaren Venster or The Kimmel Center.
She has shared the stages with some of the most established jazz musicians, such as Arturo O'Farrill, Steve Wilson, Troy Roberts, Francisco Mela, Shai Maestro, Manuel Valera, Edsel Gomez, Ralph Alessi or Santi Debriano.
Maksim Perepelica-Bass: New York City-based internationally renowned and multi-awarded Latvian jazz bassist, producer, arranger, and educator Maksim Perepelica is one of the brightest musical talents in his country and beyond its borders. He is a true artist with a unique vision and a profound understanding of music, possessing a deep knowledge of the jazz idiom, a powerful sound, and a solid rhythmic feel.
He has performed, toured, and recorded with some of the most prominent musicians on the scene, including Steve Wilson, Troy Roberts, Manuel Valera, Alex Sipiagin, Shai Maestro, Seamus Blake, Samuel Torres, Edsel Gomez, Bobby Sanabria, Jason Rigby, Silvano Monasterios, Valery Ponomarev, Tommy Campbell, Ricky Ford, Ron Jackson, Berta Moreno, Evan Hyde, Alina Engibaryan, and Benjamin Herman, among many others.
Pete Rosales-Piano: Pete Rosales is a skilled pianist, composer, and arranger born and raised in New York City. A graduate of LaGuardia High School and SUNY Purchase with a degree in Jazz Piano, Pete has extensive experience in jazz fusion, American Songbook repertoire, and diverse Latin jazz styles, including Cuban and Brazilian traditions. He is the keyboardist for the acclaimed band Telula and is recognized for his skillful compositions and arrangements, as well as his work as a music director.
Greg German-Drums: Greg Germann has been touring all around the world playing the drums for various touring productions for the past 15 years. He became one of the most respected and consistent performers. Some of these national tours included broadway shows like “Wicked”, “Grease” and “Finding Neverland” and even spent a year traveling with the Big Apple Circus Over his career, he has performed with artists such as Ben Vereen, Sir Roland Hanna, Antonio Hart, Clifton Davis, John Davidson, Jimmy Heath, and Jeb Patton as well as many others.
