Somatic Workshop: mapping the PARTS of our life
Overview
This two-hour virtual workshop invites you to map the story your body remembers — tracing your life’s journey from before birth to the present moment. Guided by the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), we’ll blend gentle meditation, creative life mapping, and group witnessing to explore the parts that have shaped your becoming.
Together, we’ll reflect on ancestral influences, pivotal life moments, and the protective and loving parts that have carried us through. Participants will leave with a visual map of their life, a deeper understanding of their inner system, and renewed compassion for the many parts of Self that make us whole.
What Is IFS / Parts Work?
Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, is a compassionate framework for self-understanding that teaches us to see the many parts within us — the protectors, inner children, and voices that hold our stories. Beneath these parts is our Core Self, the calm and compassionate essence of who we are.
Through a somatic and ancestral lens, this workshop expands traditional Parts Work by acknowledging how our bodies and lineages carry memory, emotion, and inherited patterns. Together, we’ll explore how awareness, movement, and mindful witnessing can help us connect with our parts, honor what’s been carried, and invite deeper healing and wholeness.
