Chase will be guiding you through a series of somatic movements and breathwork styles to aid in your connection to your breath and body. Through guided breathwork, you’ll experience the path to releasing what no longer serves you, grow peace within, and expand your expression of truth. The breath is a bridge that links the mind, body, and spirit as we are able to access and connect to deeper parts of our selves, coming into wholeness.

What is Somatic Breathwork?

Somatic Breathwork is a body-based healing practice that uses conscious, connected breathing to release stored stress, trauma, and emotional blockages from the body. "Somatic" refers to the body and the felt sense—this approach emphasizes awareness of bodily sensations and emotions as a path to healing.

Core Principles

  1. The Body Stores Trauma
Emotions, trauma, and stress are not just psychological—they are stored in the body. Somatic breathwork helps to access and release these patterns.
  2. Breath as a Bridge
Breath links the conscious and unconscious, mind and body. It’s a tool to access deeper layers of the self.
  3. Non-Ordinary States
Breathwork can induce altered states of consciousness, allowing the practitioner to process unresolved experiences without needing to "talk" about them.
  4. Autonomic Nervous System Reset
This work helps regulate the nervous system, especially for those stuck in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses.

What a Typical Session Looks Like

  1. Intention Setting
The session begins with grounding and setting an intention for what you want to explore or release.
  2. Breathing Phase
We'll be utlizing two different styles of breath. 1 round of in through the nose, out through the mouth, extending the exhale. 1 round of in and out through the mouth, keeping a nice steady rhythm and wave like motion of the breath. Both rounds will end with a 45 second inhale breath retention to focus on the tensions within the body, to then release them at the end of the hold. We will end the breathing phase with a guided meditation.
  3. Somatic Expression
As the body processes and releases, emotions, movements, vocal expressions, or physical sensations may arise. Crying, shaking, laughing, or yelling are all normal and encouraged as part of the release.
  4. Integration
The session ends with deep rest, followed by integration—often including journaling, sharing, or somatic grounding exercises.
