Solving Wicked Problems with Systems Thinking - Map the Systems Mixer
Overview
Join us for a session focused on the powers of system thinking, a methodology focused on complex problems and a chance to travel to the University of Oxford to present your at the Map the System competition.
Map the System is an Initiative of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship partnering with educational institutions around the world. Students select a social, environmental, economic or health issue they care about in their local community.
No experience in Systems Thinking is necessary. All UNC students can get involved! Attend this session if you are interested in:
- Learning systems thinking, a methodology for solving complex problems
- Exploring a social or environmental issue you are passionate about
- Formulating ways to visually map a complex system
- Building research and presentation skills
- Forging new connections with innovators and changemakers
- Representing UNC Chapel Hill at the University of Oxford in July 2025.
In this session, students will be discussing and brainstorming topics including:
- Global Inequality
- Migration and Refugee Crisis
- Climate Change
- Loss of Biodiversity
- Urbanization and Habitat Loss
- Technology Disruption
- Food Security
