As part of the CaLISTA WG2 Workshop Recent Advances in Classical and Quantum Integrability, we are delighted to welcome you to this exciting public lecture and documentary screening on Thursday, June 05, 2025.

Led by the world-renowned mathematician Professor Alexander I. Bobenko, this session will revolve around the documentary Solving the Bonnet Problem which follows the work of three mathematicians as they collaborate to solve a long-standing geometric problem proposed by Pierre Ossian-Bonnet. Alongside their work, the film explores the lives and contributions of Bonnet and his contemporary Gaston Darboux, as well as the history of French mathematics in the 19th century. Fascinating computer graphics help to unravel complex concepts and make them accessible to all. Check out the film trailer here!

Professor Bobenko is a professor at the Technische Universität Berlin working in the areas of geometry, visualisation, and mathematical physics. He is also an author and editor of several books on a range of topics in mathematics and mathematical physics.

Open to general public
