About this event

We’re coming up on 10 years as a small business in San Jose, and we’re kicking off a new chapter: more community events, more chances to connect, and a bigger HYROX crew in the Bay. HalfRox is our practice race for anyone curious about HYROX or already hooked.

Expect 500m runs outside and classic stations inside: SkiErg, Sled Push/Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Row, Walking Lunges, Wall Balls, plus a Farmer Carry loop outside. Heats of 4 start every 25–35 minutes so you get space, coaching, and a legit race vibe without chaos.

Come sweat, meet people from all over the Bay, and help us grow the HYROX community at Hyper Strength & Conditioning. New to this? Perfect. Seasoned? Chase a PR. We’re here for good energy, clean reps, and high-fives.

$45 per spot. Limited tickets. Spectators welcome.

How do heats work?

We run small heats of 4 athletes on a waterfall start so equipment never jams and you get space to move.

How often do heats start?

Heats go every 25–35 minutes from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm (exact cadence posted on the event page). Example 25-min starts: 8:00, 8:25, 8:50… 1:50.

When do I get my heat time?

We email your official heat time at least 48 hours before race day (e.g., Thu 6:00 pm for a Saturday event). You’ll also get a reminder the night before.

Can I request a specific heat?

Yes—reply to your confirmation email within 24 hours. We’ll do our best based on availability.

How long will my race take?

Most finish in 30–45 minutes. We run a 50-minute time cap to keep the day on schedule.

What’s included?

Movement standards briefing, judged reps, a posted time, hype playlist, and community vibes. Water and basic first aid on site.

What should I bring/wear?

Training shoes, water bottle, towel. Optional: fingerless grips for burpees/sled ropes, knee sleeves for lunges.

Will there be scaling?

Yes. We offer Rec (lighter sled/sandbag/ball) and RX options. Pick your division at check-in.

Do you track results?

No. It'll be a self timed event however we will work on seeing if we can tack your results.

Can I do it with a friend?

As of right now we are only do singles however you can request to run in the same heat.

Refunds or transfers?

7+ days out: full transfer to a future event or another athlete. Within 7 days: transfer to another athlete only. No-shows: no refund.

Weather plan (for outdoor parts)?

Light rain = we run it. Unsafe weather = we shift stations indoors or reschedule; your ticket auto-moves or can be credited.

Parking & check-in?

Free lot/streets. Check in 20 minutes before your heat at the front desk.
