Join us for an Argentine Tango concert with Mirta Wymerszberg and Sebastian Quintero.
An accomplished flutist, bandoneon player and vocalist, Seattle based musician Mirta Wymerszberg, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina brings extensive experience in authentic tango music from Argentina, where she received her musical education at the Municipal Conservatory of Music, and performed classical and tango music. Mirta and guitar player Sebastian Quinteros perform regularly in the Northwest with Tango band “Sol de Noche”, as well as a guest artist in a diversity of projects.
Mirta has performed with relevant Argentine Tango musicians like: Gustavo Beytelmann, Hernan Reinaudo, Claudio Mendez, Roberto Amerise, Juan Lorenzo, Ariel Pirotti and Maxi Larrea. She has recorded several cds: FLOR de Tango (2000); Figuracion de Gabino Betinotti (2009) A dos Puntas (2016); Ay Margarita, 2011 (children's music in Spanish); and Endiablada de Tangos (2016) that had been selected to be part of the Playback collection at the Seattle Public Library. She has recently released “El rio de la vida” a vocal album recorded in Buenos Aires with guitar player Hernan Reinaudo, (2024) She’s a recipient of 2 City Artist grants from Seattle City of Arts and Culture, and 4 Culture has sponsored some of her past projects.
Sol de noche has performed at Anacortes Arts Festival, Folklife Festival, Latinx festival in Tacoma, Bellevue Arts Festival, and many others on the west coast. Mirta has performed as a soloist with the West Sound Symphony of Bremerton in two programs.
*This concert is a ticketed event and will begin promptly at 5pm and last until roughly 7pm, with a brief intermission. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for check in and seating.
