Can I bring my own machine?

We have Singer and Brother machines at the library. If you wish to bring your own machine to work with, you may, however staff will not be available to assist with your personal machines.

Do I need to bring tools?

You are welcome to bring tools, however the library has scissors, shears, rotary cutters, rulers, cutting tables and mats, plus the regular array of small accessories such as seam rippers, measuring tapes, pins, fabric pencils and markers, needles, thimbles, bobbins, and more.

Can I bring my child?

This is a self-led workspace, so there will be no instructions given.  If your child knows how to sew, they are very welcome to come.  For safety, the youngest we allow at these classes are 14 years old.  Minors 14-17 must be accompanied by a legal adult guardian.

Question 4

Can I sign up for more than one spot a day?

Accepted Answer

Of course!  We limit participants because we have a limited number of sewing machines, so if you wish to have a sewing machine all day then you may register for both spots.  However, if you are unable to stay the entire day we ask that you inform staff so others may use that spot.

Question 5

Do I need to bring my own fabric?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  This program is to allow people to work on their own projects, so no materials are provided.
