Overview

We will learn about Snowy Owl irruptions, why Snowy Owls love visiting MSP and how we can protect these beautiful Owls.

Location: MSP Aircraft Viewing Area, Cargo Rd. Bloomington, MN 55425

GPS Coordinates: 44°52'55.2"N 93°13'43.5"

This outing is appropriate for people new to birding or with limited experience, although

all birders are welcome! We will be watching for Snowy Owls and even possibly Snow Buntings!

We will learn about Snowy Owl irruptions, why Snowy Owls love visiting MSP and how we can protect these beautiful Owls.

We will be standing for long periods to scan the airfields for these owls. Dress for the weather.

Bring your camera and possibly get a good picture of a Snowy or two!

Individuals under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

We will meet in the parking lot located at the end of Cargo Road and near the FedEx building.

Accessibility description: The parking lot is paved. This parking lot maybe icy.

A special note, at this location the smell of jet fuel is present and can be noisy.

There are usually a couple of picnic tables. There are no bathrooms.
