Sling N' Squash 2025

The Big Chill Surf Cantina is stoked to host our 8th Sling N' Squash Competition on Saturday, November 8th, from 12 – 5 pm! Join us for the most epic pumpkin throwing event you’ve ever seen, all performed by our beasts of strength competitors.

New Brackets Announcement: This year we are excited to announce that we will be hosting two age divisions for both Men’s & Women’s, 40 & Under and 40+. This will allow for two more champions to join the podium at this year’s competition.

Competitors will challenge to throw 15–18 lb pumpkins from a 6'x6' throwing area, with distance measured from the first point of impact. The top three throwers in each division will advance to the finale round, where they’ll compete head-to-head. Each division will crown one winner, with the top thrower in that category taking home a $100 cash prize, the most kickass trophy & the best prize of all, bragging rights.

Spectators: The event is free to attend! Watch as contestants battle to see who can sling their squash the farthest. Enjoy beer, cocktails, and food from the Shore Island food truck, and live music by DJ Gregg. This is a 21+ age event.

In honor of the event being held on Veteran’s Day weekend we will be donating a portion of the registration & sales during the event to the Home of The Brave. This organization helps serve those who served us by providing temporary housing, food, stability, guidance, and support during their journey towards permanent housing.
