The Nuyorican's "Slam Workshop: Foundations & Frameworks" is focused on poetry performance with an emphasis on craft, improving writing skills among attendees, therefore improving the strength of their performance. The facilitator will open the session with a mini-lesson on a poetic craft. Attendees will then write a new poem or edit a pre-written poem to incorporate the learned craft. The remaining duration of the workshop will be one-to-one editing/performance feedback on the poem, driving in the lesson point.
