Calling Epic 6th-12th Grade Students,

Join us as Epic Charter Schools heads to Skyline in Oklahoma City for a day of giving back to our community. Skyline is a local OKC non-profit center whose mission is to serve those living in the shadows of our community by bridging the gaps in their resources with kindness and respect. Volunteers like you are essential to Skyline! Through this on-site volunteer experience, volunteers will sort, pack, and prepare supplies for a variety of programs. If you are a student seeking service hours/credit, this opportunity will help you fulfill your requirements. We are offering a morning or afternoon volunteer session for students. Please only register for one session so that other students also have the opportunity to volunteer.

This Community Service Opportunity is for Epic Charter School Students in grades 6th and up, as well as their parents or guardians & Epic Staff.

Students: Epic student email accounts cannot receive emails from Eventbrite. Therefore, you will need to provide an alternative email address where you can receive the registration confirmation and all updates that are sent about this event.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic Family Engagement staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the entrance. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear!

ITINERARY: Please only sign up for one shift. Either the morning or the afternoon shift so that other students can also volunteer.

Morning Shift:

• 10:00am Volunteer Check In
• 10:00am- 11:30am Volunteer Time
• 11:30am Conclusion

Afternoon Shift:

• 12:00pm Volunteer Check In
• 12:00pm- 2:00pm Volunteer Time
• 2:00pm Conclusion

CLOTHING & SUPPLIES RECOMMENDED:

• All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes for safety precautions. Individuals wearing flip-flops, sandals, or any shoes where toes are exposed will be unable to volunteer.

POLICIES:

You will register using Eventbrite, which will hold your spot for the community service as a reservation. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately. Our community service opportunities do have a maximum capacity. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic-enrolled 6th through 12th-grade students so that the spots are filled by our Epic students.

MEDIA POLICY: This is a public event, and photographs and or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student not to have a photograph or video taken, please let our Epic Family Engagement staff know during check-in.

Inclement Weather Plan: If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Eventbrite to let you know if the event has been canceled.

Service Animals: Please reach out to the location to see if they allow service dogs.

Sensory Bags: Sensory bags will be available to check out for use at this event. Upon arrival, see any Epic Family Engagement team member to check a bag out and return all sensory bags to an Epic Family Engagement team member before leaving the event.

Sign Language Services: To request a sign language interpreter for an Epic student at this event, please use this link: ASL Request Link. Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance of the event.The link can also be found on the Epic website under the About tab → Requests & Forms.

CANCELLATIONS: How do I cancel my reservation? To cancel the reservation and allow other students to attend in those spots, you will go to the email sent from Eventbrite with the subject line: Your Tickets for the Skyline OKC Community Service. Then scroll to the bottom of the email and click the words "View and Manage your online order." This will open up spots for other families and is very important as the location needs accurate numbers before we arrive.
