🌿'Skills for Better Sleep' shares techniques to reset your nights and recharge your days.
Your evening habits set the tone for every tomorrow. In this interactive 90-minute session, you’ll learn how sleep works, why it matters, and how to create calm so you can fall asleep—and stay asleep—naturally.
Healthy sleep is essential for focus, mood, and long-term health. Yet only 25 % of adults now get enough sleep (US data). Chronic sleep loss (<7 hours/night for weeks or longer) is linked to memory issues, cardiovascular risks, hormone imbalances, and premature aging.
📚What You’ll Learn
Dr. Annie Weisbrod blends basic sleep science with simple body-mind practices to help you:
- Learn about natural sleep cycles and why middle-of-the-night wake-ups can be normal.
- Spot and manage common disruptors such as caffeine, stress, or nighttime light.
- Build a personal “evening reset” routine to support 7–9 hours of restorative rest.
Hands-On Practice
You’ll be guided through seven proven relaxation methods that can help you fall asleep, stay asleep, or go back to sleep— without medication. During the workshop we will spend about an hour practicing:
- Diaphragmatic breathing – slow, deep breaths with extended exhales.
- Body scan – gentle awareness or tense-and-release from head to toe.
- Peaceful visualization – counting something natural like waves or breaths.
- Mantra meditation – short, soothing phrases repeated for 5+ minutes.
- Sound therapy – white/pink noise or calming music.
- Let-it-go agreements – techniques to pause worries until morning.
- Mindful movement – low-light stretches or other quiet activity.
You might even nod off during practice, which is perfectly fine.
👉This workshop is for anyone who wants to:
- Fall asleep faster or return to sleep more easily during the night
- Build an evening routine that supports 7–9 hours of restorative rest
- Reduce stress, anxiety, or racing thoughts that keep you awake
- Improve focus, mood, and energy through better sleep habits
