Skate Revolution, Dublin’s thriving BIPOC and LGBTQ+ led roller skating community, is rolling into the YMCA with weekly meet-ups and lessons for all skill levels—from total beginners to experienced skaters.
Why Skating? Why Now?
Roller skating is making a massive comeback worldwide, blending fitness, dance, and social connection. In a city like Dublin, where the weather often limits outdoor fun, Skate Revolution hosts indoor skating experience at the YMCA community hub—no prior experience needed!
Skating is a powerful way to boost physical and mental wellbeing. It helps people de-stress, build confidence, and create real connections. Many lifelong friendships have been formed through Skate Revolution, proving that rolling together is about community just as much as skating!
What to Expect
• A friendly and welcoming group of skaters who support and encourage each other.
• A chance to practise your roller dance moves or general skating skills in a relaxed setting.
• Open to all beginner levels, whether you’re completely new or have some experience but want to improve.
• A consistent weekly meet-up to help you build confidence and progress over time.
• Self-guided practice—while this is not a structured lesson, you’ll be skating alongside experienced skaters who are happy to offer tips and encouragement.
