Frequently asked questions

Are CEUs available for this workshop?

Tentatively yes. We are requesting 4 CEUs in total, spanning categories such as Natural Areas Weed Management, Aquatic Pest Control, Right-of-way Pest Control, and Forest Pest Control.

Is lunch provided?

No. Since the workshop is made available at no cost, there is no sponsored lunch or lunch provided. Due to the remoteness of the meeting location, we suggest you bring your own bagged lunch, snacks and soft drinks with you the day of the workshop.

I'm not a member of the Six Rivers CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area). Can I come?

Absolutely. We invite all land/resource managers, biologists, environmental techs, and others who manage or educate the public about invasive species to attend this workshop. We will update folks in the region about invasive species threats, and opportunities to collaborate on managing invasives.

Where is the workshop being held?

The Six Rivers 2025 Annual Meeting and Workshop is being held at Camp Longleaf within the Nokuse Plantation. The street address for the meeting location is: 4645 State Hwy 20 East, Freeport, FL 32439. Camp Longleaf is on the south side of Hwy 20, so look for the entrance on the south side.

Organized by

Established in October 2009 to facilitate a network for land managers to address the growing threat of invasive non-native species in northwest Florida. This effort is building on the success of the Gulf Coastal Plain Ecosystem Partnership (GCPEP). The GCPEP invasives sub-working group has identified formation of a CWMA/CISMA as a priority for addressing invasive species threats, because it will provide the ability to work on issues outside the existing partnership boundaries.
