Overview
A Mushaira is a popular Urdu literary event where poets perform their compositions (Ghazals) for an audience who loves Urdu poetry.
The Shayers (Poets) from India and Pakistan are coming to recite their ghazal (shayeri). They are world-renowned shayers and will perform to make your evening memorable. The Aligarh Alumni Association of Upstate Nework (AAAUNY) has been conducting the Mushaira event annually since 2010 with great success. Please come and enjoy the flavor of Gazals and give applause to the poets. The following shayers are presenting their Urdu poetry:
- Mahshar Afridi (India) 2. Naina Adil (Pakistan) 3. Madan Mohan Danish( India) 4. Basir Sultan Kazmi (Pakistan/UK) 5. Syed Sarwat Zoha (Nazim e Mushaira), Ejaz Bhatti. Additionally, some local shayers will be presenting their poetry; one of our favorites is Janab Jarrar Husain.
