Welcome to a fun, relaxed Sip & Sew workshop dedicated to creating your own quilted jacket using sustainable techniques and reclaimed fabrics. Quilted outerwear is trending, now’s the perfect time to make one yourself and learn to do it in an eco-conscious way.
In this workshop, you’ll:
- Learn the basics of sewing
- Practice sustainable sewing techniques such as using upcycled fabrics
- Add finishing touches: binding and optional lining
- Take home a wearable piece (or fully finished)
No prior experience required. Just bring a positive attitude and a friend to share the fun with.
We’ll provide:
- Guidance and demos every step
- A free kit of basic sewing tools to take home!
- Use of tools ( sewing machine, serger, rotary cutter, rulers, pressing station)
- Light refreshments (tea, sparkling water)
By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind quilted jacket (or nearly there) and a foundation in sewing techniques you can apply to future projects.
Who’s This For / Why You’ll Love It
- Absolute beginners: we’ll walk through everything step by step
- Makers interested in sustainable and upcycling practices
- People who love outerwear but want something uniquely made
- Those who enjoy hands-on, social creative time (plus a drink)
- Anyone curious about quilting but intimidated by big projects
