Join Long Beach burlesque and flow artist, Xochii de la Noche at Pieter Performance Space in Los Angeles for a fun, interactive, and beginner-friendly event where you can learn the art of silk fan movement and flow.

This workshop is perfect if you have never heard of or tried silk fans before, or if you are looking for guidance on polishing the foundations of your silk fan movement in a group setting.

By the end of the workshop, students should feel comfortable and excited to continue exploring movement through silk fans on their own to find their unique flow.


We will cover:

- What is flow arts, and the benefits of flow arts

- Fundamental movements for flowing with silk fans

- Guided movement practice, piecing together moves and sequences learned throughout the workshop

- Tips and tricks on finding your own unique 'flow'


Bring water, a mask, and comfy shoes!


Silk fans are available for class use! Fans are limited, so please bring your own if you have them.


This is a Black and brown, fat-positive, s3x-worker positive, queer and trans centered space! Allies are welcome, but please respect the space.


About Xochii de la Noche:

Xochii de la Noche (she/they) is the multi-dimensional bruja of play and pleasure and a diamond in the House Of Knyle! Based in Long Beach, CA, Xochii has been leaving audiences mesmerized since 2021 with her seductive flow, hypnotizing prop work, and a radiant smile that’s to die for.

Xochii has graced stages in both the United States and Latin America, and was crowned ‘Most Dynamic’ at the 2024 Exquisite Burlesque Festival in Long Beach.

Xochii has been spreading her love of flow arts, teaching beginner silk fans and levitation wand since 2021. They've had opportunities to teach at movement festivals in San Diego, CA and Monterrey, Mexico, at pop-up workshops over Los Angeles and Long Beach, and through private classes with students across the United States.

Pricing:

Sliding scale pricing is available on a scale of $20 - $40. If you would like to take the class, but funds are still an issue, please email xochii.info@gmail.com to work something out!

Do I need to bring my own silk fans?

If you have them, feel free to bring them. There will also be a limited amount of silk fans provided if you do not own them.

What if I have no dance experience or have never taken a dance class?

Totally welcome! This is a beginner friendly class. No dance experience is necessary.

What is parking like?

There is a free lot behind the space. Street parking is also available.
