Silent Writing Happy Hour - Fall '25
Overview
Live Write or Die, 5-7pm Tuesdays in the back room at Pete’s Candy Store.
“Writing is a solitary pursuit best practiced in a group,” says SWHH Co-host Jamie Hook. “Only thus, through collective efforts and habitual behavior, can be the Animal Spirits be unleashed."
Each week, we offer a guest scribe the opportunity to present a selection from the endless mouldering canon of literature, which we then use as a springboard to a writing prompt. We then pursue that prompt silently, automatically, collectively, without ego, for 30-45 minutes, after which you may or may not share what you have found: Who knows? Sometimes, you catch a big fish...
So join us every Tuesday at 5pm in the back room of Pete's, where we get writing -- with a little help from our friends.
Writers of all stripes are passionately welcomed. Bring your own writing utensil, and a full flask of curiosity. We generally write silently for the better part of an hour, commencing at 5:15sharp, with breaks for “Inspiration,” (as the Barkeeps call it…).
