We are pleased to announce the launch of our new YouTube web series, Silenced Beyond the Bars. It captures true stories of people impacted by the criminal legal system, how they did their time, whether they were guilty or innocent, and how, despite paying a debt to society, they are still being punished well beyond their sentences.

Silenced Beyond the Bars is a powerful testament to the old saying, “You can’t judge a book by its cover.” Our featured guests, who have shown immense courage, are remarkable citizens who have overcome significant challenges. They are living proof that the state of Mississippi's attempts to keep them connected to their past are futile.

Please accept our invitation to watch a sneak peek viewing of our series featuring Gladys Scott, co-author of The Scott Sisters: Revealing the Truth, Exposing Injustice, and Trusting God, interview other Mississippians who have been caught up in the state’s judicial system, including Strong Arms of Mississippi’s Terun Moore and former mayor of Magnolia Anthony Witherspoon.

The viewing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at the COFO Civil Rights and Education Center.
