Shut Up & Write @ Ida’s Bookshop

While a permanent location for Ida’s Bookshop is still unfolding, we’ve been invited by a friend to use her home for our work to continue. Our next literary installation is called-- Shut Up & Write @ Ida’s Train Station.

Led by Jeannine A. Cook, the series is named after her forthcoming memoir, Shut Up & Write. This series is about writing together, in a shared communal space, but in focused silence—so we finally get to The End of our current works in progress.

Studies show that expressive writing can have the same effects on our brains as prayer and meditation--improving mood, regulating emotions, and boosting our immune systems. Therefore we've designed a place for folks to shut up and write--together.

Each session will include:

A super short literary discussion

Intense social silence

Indoor & outdoor writing spaces

Time to share and listen

📅 3 Sundays in December (Writing Sessions)

⏰ 11 AM - 2 PM

💰 $15 per session (byob --bring your own beverage)
