Short Story Club: Live Q&A with Cory Doctorow on Masque of the Red Death
Event Information
About this event
Short Story Club is like a book club, but for short stories!
RSVP to receive a link to a great story you can read in a single sitting and join a live discussion with the author on Zoom.
This week we'll discuss Masque of the Red Death by Cory Doctorow.
Story summary: Cory's prescient short story follows a finance bro who creates a luxury bunker full of guns, jewels, status wine, and food and water enough for thirty friends. When society finally does collapse, the fallout wildly defies their preparations.
About the author: Cory Doctorow (craphound.com) is a science fiction author, activist and journalist. He is the author of many books, most recently RADICALIZED and WALKAWAY, science fiction for adults, IN REAL LIFE, a graphic novel; INFORMATION DOESN’T WANT TO BE FREE, a book about earning a living in the Internet age, and HOMELAND, a YA sequel to LITTLE BROTHER. His next book is POESY THE MONSTER SLAYER, a picture book for young readers.
A note on ticket prices: We're offering two types of tickets. The $5 ticket will provide a $5 donation to Mask Match, a project connecting front line healthcare workers with vitally-needed N95 masks available in the community. The FREE ticket is just that, free! Both tickets get you a link to the story and an invite to attend the live Q&A. We're happy to have you either way.
