- Date: Week of June 23, 2025
- Location: SCA Training Facility, Tabet Manufacturing Co. Inc., 1336 Ballentine Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23504
- Duration: 5 Full Days, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM each day
- (8 hours of pre-work is required, for a total of 48 hours)
- Instructor: Koryne Andrew, Lead CoBot Trainer
🎯 Purpose
This first module provides foundational training on the use of collaborative robots (CoBots) in shipbuilding environments. It is designed to equip participants with a clear understanding of CoBot capabilities, hands-on experience, and the knowledge needed to begin integrating CoBots into shipyard welding tasks.
🌟 Training Goals
- Introduce participants to the basics of CoBot operation and programming
- Demonstrate real-world applications of CoBots in shipbuilding with welding WPS.
- Provide hands-on practice with major CoBot systems (e.g., Miller Copilot, Lincoln Cooper)
- Begin building the skills and confidence needed for future certification and advanced modules
🔧 What You Need to Bring
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots (if available)
- Notebook and pen for taking notes
- Willingness to engage, ask questions, and practice with the equipment
SCA will provide all CoBot equipment, training materials, and lunch!
