Join your neighbors in South Carolina to provide food, shelter, comfort and care for your community when a hurricane or other major disaster strikes. With a few hours of training, you can gain preparedness skills that will keep your family safe and your community resilient. Your compassion and our humanitarian mission are essential to overcome increasing threats and destruction from natural disasters.
Shelter Service Associate volunteers support the day-to-day activities within a shelter, which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other areas.
If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local or regional shifts of 12 hours each. Volunteers must complete specific requirements, including training, to be eligible for disaster assignments and deployments.
