About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours 30 minutes

Come catch our informative and incisive panel featuring Michelle Cyca (The Narwhal/The Walrus), Kier Junos (CityNews Vancouver), Harrison Mooney (The Tyee/author) and Mel Woods (Xtra Magazine), with Ming Wong (The Globe and Mail) moderating! Following a Q+A session, we'll all stick around and hang out! There will be some complimentary apps and snacks, courtesy of Unifor.
Looking forward to welcoming students, mentors and alumni from all four (!) of our Shared Bylines cohorts, as well as newsroom staffers, union members, early career journos and other media professionals from Metro Vancouver.

SHARED BYLINES is a scholarship and mentorship program that aims to help BIPOC student journalists overcome barriers to entering the media industry by offering financial and professional support for those who have traditionally been underrepresented in Canadian media to allow them to succeed.

(SB events are FREE, courtesy of Unifor, but we'll gather any PWYC donations toward the important equity-focused work of the Yarrow Intergenerational Society for Justice 世代同行會 so please bring cash to donate!)
