Join us on August 6th for an afternoon of creative exploration and conversation as we shape the next phase of arts and culture in Barking & Dagenham. This is the first of 3 sessions taking place this August.
These session are for artists, cultural workers, producers, and creative practitioners, whether you’ve been active in the borough for years or are just beginning to build your practice here.
Through hands-on making, shared reflection, and open discussion, we’ll ask:
“What will it feel like when Barking & Dagenham is the cultural heart of London?”
We’ll bring other provocations and creative materials to help us build a collective vision. Your insights will help inform the future structure and priorities of the Cultural Partnership Group.

This work is part of the wider strategic strand which is now co led by BD Giving and Creative Barking and Dagenham.
In June 2025, Barking and Dagenham Council commissioned BD Giving and Creative Barking and Dagenham (Creative BD) to jointly lead the strategic facilitation of the CPG.
Together, we’re working to strengthen the CPG’s governance, sustainability, and local leadership so that the group can better serve artists, organisations and communities across the borough.
