Shakedown Sunday is a monthly series hosted by Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers and members of Dead to the Core, with special guests, that celebrates the music of the Grateful Dead—not just the band’s originals but songs from across the roots and rock worlds they made their own.
Special guest Jefferson Hamer is an internationally touring guitarist, songwriter, traditional musician, and producer based in Brooklyn. He is best known for his collaborations with Anaïs Mitchell (Child Ballads, recipient of a BBC2 Folk Award), Sarah Jarosz (as guitarist and harmony singer on her Grammy-nominated Blue Heron Suite), Session Americana, and other solo artists including Kristin Andreassen, Reed Foehl, and Laura Cortese. His original songs are featured on his self-released albums and singles, including the full-length Alameda. Perhaps his most enduring collaboration is the Murphy Beds, a harmony-rich folk duo with Irish musician and songwriter Eamon O’Leary, featuring a self-titled LP and the follow-up Easy Way Down.
Hamer is also a regular performer on Dead to the Core tours, appearing at top Northeast venues such as Club Passim, the Word Barn, and the Parlor Room.

- The 443 has a $15 per person/seat required minimum purchase for our shows, which can be any combination of food and drink. If your party (or part of it) does not show up, the ticket buyer will be charged $15 per person. Please let us know if you're not coming at least 24 hours before the show to avoid this charge.
- The 443 is an 18+ venue.
- No outside food or drink allowed.
- Ticket limit: 6 single seats. We cannot seat parties of more than 6 at the same table.
- Be respectful to the artist on stage and considerate to your neighbors - put your phone away, limit your conversation, and plan to be settled in your seats before the show starts.
