Welcome to Shades of Play: Playing Cards, Art & Magic!

A one day spectacular event at the Ohio History Connection that includes:

  • The world’s greatest playing card exhibition of it’s kind!
  • An exclusive walk-through with the curator.
  • Open tables for Spades, Bid Whist, Pinochle & Euchre play. So bring your 'A' game!
  • An amazing magic show featuring world class Superstar Magicians Eric Jones and Kenrick "Ice" McDonald and hosted by the hilarious national touring comedian Vince Morris.
  • Limited VIP* tickets available. Show starts promptly at 3pm.

Frequently asked questions

Is the building handicap accessible?

Yes. The exhibition and card playing are upstairs. The elevator is available. The magic show will be in the theater on the ground floor.

Is the event "Family Friendly"?

Shades Of Play is geared toward adults. However, children 14 yrs. and below need to be accompanied by a parent/gaurdian (age 18+) and will be ticketed at the General Admission-2 price. Infants and toddlers (1-3 yrs.)are free.

Will there be food at the event?

A wonderful food truck "NaNa Pat's Kitchen" will be right outside the Terrace Plaza for our event!

Will there be items to purchase?

There will be some rare items for our guests to puchase. VIP will have discounted prices on various purchases throughout the event.

Do I need a partner for the open table play?

If you come alone, you can be paired with someone. Our open tables are NOT a tournament -just for FUN and bragging rights!
