About this event
This is the sixth Dyke Town Hall since we began collaborating with community in the fall of 2024, hosted by the 2025 SF Dyke March Interim Steering and Governance Committees, who aim to bring folks together, recruit new leadership, and work towards a rebuilding effort for SF Dyke March events.
In Person Dyke Town Hall #6: Saturday, September 27, 12-2 pm at Queer Arts Featured, 575 Castro St, San Francisco, CA 94114. This is Harvey Milk's old camera shop. Seating is limited.
VIRTUAL TICKETS to attend via Zoom are here.
JOIN NOW to be sure you’re ready to VOTE on 9/27.To be a member with Voting Privileges, you must also:
- Be a Member in good standing, which includes being registered as a Member, paying annual dues.
- Have attended at least 2 Town Halls in the last 12 months. The Town Hall on election day counts as one of two Town Hall attendance requirements. Being a registered volunteer for SF Dyke March 2025 could also count as one DTH attendance, if needed.
- Be a resident of the nine Bay Area Counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma.
Voter registration and all ballots will be vetted by Harvey Milk Democratic Club.
SF Dyke March will be electing up to 8 seats on an Advisory Committee to lead the organization. You may be wondering why now, why “elect” members of an advisory board rather than appoint whomever is willing to do the work, as has been done in years past. The primary reason is sustainability - with 2 year staggered terms, this would build a succession plan for experienced committee members to mentor incoming team members, reducing volunteer burnout and adding bricks to our foundation to support long term success. The model of a few leaders holding all the responsibility for the SF Dyke March is no longer sustainable. With Advisory Committee members elected by the voting membership, the mutual commitment of the SFDM and the community has the potential for an even deeper connection, leading to even greater success.
This meeting will be sign-language interpreted for in-person attendees.
Masks will be required for this event, and masks will be available at the door.
