Sew Your Wardrobe: A Workshop on Garment Construction from Patterns

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the art of sewing your custom garments using commercial patterns—think of it as your very own mini sewing bee!

Doors open at 12:30 pm. I will be on site at noon for setup.

👥 Age Information: This workshop is for ages 18 due to insurance purposes - perfect for beginner sewers

Location: Full Circle Brewery Hoults Yard, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 2HL

What to Expect:

In this workshop, we will guide you through the essential steps of transforming flat fabric into stylish, three-dimensional garments:

• Understanding the Pattern Envelope: Learn how to read and interpret the pattern envelope to choose the right fabric and notions (such as zippers or buttons), and find your perfect size using the sizing chart.
• Cutting Your Fabric: Discover how to accurately cut your fabric using the pattern pieces as a guide, ensuring a perfect fit for your garment.
• Sewing the Pieces Together: Follow our detailed instructions to stitch your fabric pieces together in the correct order using a sewing machine.
• Finishing Touches: Add closures like zippers or buttons, hem your garment, and apply other finishing details to give your piece a professional look.

All materials and sewing patterns will be provided; you’re also welcome to bring your own choice of pattern along with your fabric. The only requirement is to bring your fabric!

As a special treat, enjoy a selection of delicious pizza from our gorgeous clay oven during the workshop.
